Thank you for your interest in saving the monarch butterfly! We offer seeds in packets or in bulk. Each seed packet contains 25-30 Asclepias syriaca milkweed seeds with instructions for planting. Donate $70 and receive 100 milkweed seed packets to plant and share with others.
PLEASE NOTE: Germination rates will be greatly reduced if not planted correctly! Milkweed seeds can be very slow to germinate and does take some time and patience. For best results and to speed up the germination process, place the seeds in the refrigerator for 30 days prior to planting. Then plant the seeds in a sunny place about 1/2" deep and water them for at least two weeks.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Seed Plant-By Dates
Please note that the “Plant By” date printed on our seed packets does not mean the seeds are expired. It is a recommended planting date provided by the seed manufacturer.
Our milkweed seeds remain viable for 1–2 years beyond the printed “Plant By” date when stored properly. You can still plant these seeds with confidence and expect good germination.
For best results, store seeds in a cool, dry place until you are ready to plant
